July 2020 Dividends

Time for another dividend update!

For the month of July, my portfolio did it’s best and produced more compared to what I’ve gotten throughout this pandemic. That’s good news for me!

TLDR; I have a video as well if you’re not interested in reading.

Here’s a breakdown of my June 2020 dividends.

PCI$2.33
AGNC$1.56
GNL$31.34
STAG$3.18
O$1.99
GOOD$3.38
LAND$0.49
NRZ$1.50

In total, I made $45.78 in July.

$GNL and $NRZ paid out their quarterly distributions, thus contributing greatly to the increase for this month. $O increased by $0.01, so that’s good.

The month of July has given me the biggest payout ever since the market downturn in March, only followed by my April payout. Despite being 1/3 less than my January payout of around $67, this was the best development I could have for my portfolio.

This is an amount that I cannot complain about because like I’ve been saying over and over again, I have no control over how the market does. What I can only control is my response to it.

So, instead of being a worrywart and get anxious on why my payouts are lower and my portfolio declining, I chose to stay in the game and just weather it out.

I want to be a long-term investor in the stock market, and that is what I will emulate. So, let’s stop worrying when the market is gonna tank or go back up because it will always be a cycle.

Historically speaking, the market will always recover after a crash, so there’s really no point in selling your positions anytime soon.

It will be better for us to stick to our current positions and add to it if there is any money to spare. Only sell your positions when you are in dire need of cash for your necessities.

After all, we’re all trying to become financially free and independent. Sacrifices will need to be made in order to get there.
