Final Thoughts
The start of February was quite rocky for my portfolio. It went into the month with huge losses and only recovered back recently close to the $8,000. Even with my contributions of $200 every month, the stock market just made it really hard to make gains. But I’ve come to terms with it since there are uncontrollable factors influencing it, the biggest ones are the Russia-Ukraine war and the planned rate hikes by the Feds this year.
I also observed in my dividends that one stock didn’t made the cut, which was ABR. My quarterly comparison would’ve shown a growth in it, but because ABR was not included, it was less. A tad disappointed, but still happy that there is growth compared to last month and last year.
Also, one thing to be happy about is with WeBull. They recently added the recurring deposit feature. This has been the oldest, most requested feature to be honest. I’m so surprised that only now that they’ve pushed it out. It was such a basic feature that every investor needed, but they failed to do so. It was one of the reasons why people didn’t like WeBull, especially for beginners.
As a dividend investor, I have one feature that I really need to see in the platform next, and that’s the DRIP feature. I like having that option like I do with TDAmeritrade. I could opt in to have all my stocks in DRIP or just a few ones. Hopefully, they implement that soon, so I can DCA automatically.
While the market is at this state, it’s a little nerve-wracking to see your portfolio moving closer to the red. But this will also be a buying opportunity for us while stocks that we love are discounted. I’m going to load up on some stocks and increase that dividend income every month.
