January 2022 Dividends

Time for another dividend income update! For January, I received 7 dividends paychecks. We’re going to see who paid me and how much I got in dividends. I’m always excited to share these numbers because I can see my portfolio and paychecks grow, but also share with everyone that dividend investing works and it’s a great way to create passive income.

Final Thoughts

The start of 2022 has been a rocky one for the stock market. So many investors have been selling off their positions and even entire portfolios. There’s so many things happening, that personally, I checked out from checking the news and my portfolio.

I started to feel overwhelmed by a lot of the negative news around the stock market crashing, that people need to get out of it, etc. While I may have distanced myself for a little bit from those news, I don’t dismiss them completely at all.

I take a small piece of gold nugget from the updates and kind of internalize how that affects my investments. So even if almost everything is going down, I bought the dip instead. I finally added my first $200 for this year and bought the extra shares of REITs that I’ve planned to do.

If the market continues to act like this, I’m just going to DCA my way into a sizeable position for my REITs and start diversifying again to combat any huge swings on my REIT holdings.

I’m not sure when the market will pick back up again, but as a dividend investor, my focus is on building my positions in order to grow my dividends, and always look at a longer-term perspective.
