I Tried PASSIVE INCOME Apps

Building out different streams of passive income has always been a goal for me. There are different ways that you can achieve this, for example, such as investing in the stock market or in real estate.

But when you don’t have the money to invest in these passive income streams, what else can you do to generate cashflow passively?

So I looked for different ways online that I can do that without having to pull out money from my wallet and just make money without having to do much.

There are hundreds of apps out there for passive income, but here are the 7 ones that I’ve tried recently. Some of them, I have payment proofs, while for others, I’m still in the process of hitting the limit.

Honeygain

Honeygain is a free app that allows its users to earn money by sharing their internet connection. Basically, users “rent” out their unused internet bandwidth to businesses for market research through the platform.

Earnings vary per month with Honeygain. And according to their website, your earnings are affected by location (or the traffic demand), the number of IP addresses or devices you have Honeygain installed, and your network ping/speed. And I will also add how much your referrals have made because you get a cut from what they earn.

If you own a lot of IP addresses or mobile IPs, you can use their other service: Swarmbytes. It’s basically Honeygain but on a larger scale, and you can add that as another source of revenue for your company.

Anyway, you can request payout when you hit $20, or 20,000 credits. 10MB of data is equivalent to $0.01, or 20GB of data shared will get you to $20.

I started with Honeygain on August 11th, and it took me more than 2 months to hit my first payout. They pay you via PayPal or with Bitcoin when you redeem.

And when I processed my payment, Honeygain uses a payment processor called Tipalti, and I received $17.88 after fees from Tipalti and PayPal. A little bit excessive on fees, IMO, but it’s money I got from doing nothing.

What’s there to complain?

I haven’t tried the Bitcoin option yet, so that’s what I will use the next time I hit $20.

Signing up is very easy, and will only take 5 minutes or less. And if you want to hit the $20 payout faster, you can start with a bonus of $5 when you signup through my link or use my code.

Reklaim (formerly Killi)

Reklaim, or formerly called Killi, enables users to reklaim their data from those who have been using it without their consent. Users can choose which data they’re comfortable “selling,” see which companies are buying their data, and in turn, users can collect a cut from those profits.

You earn by sharing your profile or the data you wish to share, your shopping data by linking a credit card or bank account, your browsing data and your device data. They have surveys too that help you get extra points, but I rarely do that since I installed the app to earn money doing nothing.

Earning from Reklaim is maxed at 400 points, or $4, every month for each individual. But you can go beyond that if you refer your friends to the app. When you refer someone, you both get 100 points right away and you can earn 10% of the data earnings they make for up to 5 friends.

They have a payout threshold of 1,000 points, or $10. So, realistically, it would take you 3 months to cash out if you max out the points every month by yourself. They pay you with Bitcoin, Ethereum or your choice of Gift Cards. Signing up is pretty easy too, so it should not take more than 5 minutes.

MobileXpression

MobileXpression is another free app that pays you for your data. They are a market research company who aims to study and understand mobile consumer behaviors.

You can earn by installing their app on their phone, and that’s it. You just keep it active by doing the same thing you do everyday on your phone — browsing the web, watching YouTube, and reading articles. Every week you are active, you are eligible to claim 5 credits every week.

They have a payout threshold of 30 credits. And when you sign up, they give you a welcome bonus of 10 credits. Realistically, it’s going to take you 1 month to cash out when you’re new, and around 2 months after that.

They don’t pay cash directly to you, so you will have to choose gift cards including Amazon.com, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks. But if you want cash, you can choose the PayPal option.

I just recently installed this app, so I don’t have a payment proof yet, or any other tips I can share with you.

But I’m keeping a close eye on this, and update you when I finally receive my first payout.

Achievement

Achievement is a free app that rewards you for sharing data about your health. You can connect other health apps and use Achievement to congregate all data.

Every action such as walking, running, sleeping or eating, you log in those connected apps, Achievement tracks those and rewards you with points. There are also surveys you can answer for up to 200 points.

While Achievement uses the data you share to help companies make better health products and services, the app is a great way to keep yourself motivated and make healthier decisions.

You can cash out your points for a PayPal payment, Gift Card, pre-paid card, bank deposit or donation to charity once you hit 10,000 points.

I’m still a long way to go, so I haven’t had the chance to cash out yet. If you want to use Achievement, make sure to start with 100 points already by signing up with my link.

Surveys On The Go

Surveys On The Go is another free app that pays you for your data. The company has been in the scene for 10 years now and they have continued to pay their users for their data and opinions.

This app is primarily a survey app but they have another way to earn, aside from surveys, without you having to do anything. And that’s why I’ve added them to my list of passive income apps.

You can earn by sharing your location data and turn on digital surveys through their program called “Payday.” Every week, they send you micropayments, that increase weekly, until it maxes out to $1 every 4 weeks.

Once you hit $10, you can redeem your cash for an Amazon or Starbucks gift card, a Visa pre-paid card, or a PayPal payment.

I’m still new to the app, so I’m still at $5. And once I can cash out, I will update you and post some proofs here.

Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is another app that you can rely on for extra cash. Similar to Surveys On The Go, Survey Junkie is primarily a survey app. They reward users by providing feedback and answering surveys that help companies understand consumer attitudes and behaviors.

But aside from surveys, you can earn money passively by installing their software Survey Junkie Pulse to your desktop or phone. Once installed, it will collect anonymous data about your online activities and reward you with points every month.

Once you hit 500 points, you can redeem them for PayPal cash, gift cards or a bank deposit. Even though I’ve used this app since August, I rarely touch it and just let the points accumulate passively.

I’m at 360 points right, and I’ve been getting 100 points passively every month from my two devices. If I don’t supplement with surveys, it will take me 2 more months before I can make my first cash out.

But once I do, I’m going to update you as well and post a proof here.

UpVoice

UpVoice rewards its users by collecting data from ads through social media. Users install their Chrome extension or their desktop software and browse on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and also Amazon.

Like similar apps, they run on a point system that you can use later for rewards. If you accumulate 60 points, that translates to $1. When you accumulate 600 points ($10), you can redeem them for gift cards.

If you sign up, they give you a $5 bonus (300 points) towards your first cash out. The only caveat for this app though is that they only offer gift cards, no cash rewards.

I’m about to do my first redemption, so I will update when it’s successful and I can post a proof.
