Student Loan Update #17

Time for another student loan update!

Sallie Mae

My balance on Sallie Mae in the last update was $4,120.44. And as of the time of this writing, I’ve reduced that amount to $3,200.61 (excluding a pending payment of $125). That’s a $919.83 reduction!

As always, I’ve consistently paid $125 every week to my last Sallie Mae loan (#6489). The first payment on this cycle started on December 20 with $125. However, on the 27th, I was able to make an additional payment of $200, bringing the total to that weekly payment to $325!

On the 3rd, 10th and 17th, $125 payments were made. And the entire manual payments I did was around $825.

And in a very Dredd fashion, I forgot again that I had my auto-debit every 11th. I ended up paying double during the week of January 10th, bringing my entire payments to $950. I think this is the biggest payment I’ve ever made in between updates.

Weekly interest accruals in the $6 range can now be seen in my account.

At the start of January, this amount was at $3,681.04.

College Avenue

For this loan, I recently checked my outstanding balance and is now sitting at a balance of $3,019.47. At the start of January 1, this amount was around $3,065.88.

EdFinancial (Fed Loans)

There aren’t any big changes to this loan. Last month’s balance for my Federal Loans was at around $11,718.14, but now it has fallen to $11,568.14 due to a $75 payment I made in December 31st.

Balance as of January 1, 2021 for my entire student loan is $18,390.06.

TLDR; As always, here’s a video version for your convenience!
